“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.” Psalm 34:18

As I wrote “Broken Warrior”, this verse constantly came to my mind. The next encouraging words were:

The Lord your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love; he will rejoice over you with singing.” (Zephaniah 3:17)

When was the last time you rejoiced over someone with singing because you loved him or her so much? God does with us. Now, you might be saying to yourself, “What, really? You mean God loves me even after I behaved like I did and said those awful words to my family?” Yes. “God loves me even after I have looked for everything else to fill my empty heart except for Him?” YES!

Look at how the Lord reacts to His children who turn to Him:

*Rejoices over us with gladness, takes delight in us.

*Renews us with love, quiets the turmoil in our lives with love.

*Rejoices over us with singing.

These phrases describe a God who is joyful, excited, and full of love. His desire is to want us to turn to Him.

So yes, God loves us, will renew us, and restore us. What do we need to do? Get ready, hold on to your hat, here we go; we are to ACCEPT His love, ACCEPT His renewing, ACCEPT His ways, and ACCEPT His restoration. Yes, it is that simple. Why do we make it so hard?

Broken Warriors, Choose to Soar by choosing to release your controlling grip on life and grab the hand of the one who loves you unconditionally and wants to renew you and give you abundant life.
